Close a Trade
Step-by-step guide to manually closing your positions on Figment.Trade
🔴 Close a Trade
Let’s wrap things up cleanly.
“How do I exit a trade?”
Whether it’s a win or a lesson, closing a position is easy.
Just below the chart, you’ll see three tabs: Positions, Pending, and Filled. Click on Positions to view all your active trades.
Find the position you want to close, then click the small trash can (🗑️) icon on the right. This will open up the close trade window.
A trade summary will pop up showing important details like your estimated profit and loss (PnL), entry price, and size.
Choose how you want to close the trade. You can either close by percentage or by quantity. If your trade is a fractional position, you’ll only be able to fully close it. Partial closes won't be available. The interface will let you know if that's the case.
Review the details carefully, make sure the amount and expected PnL are what you want. Click Close to finalize. You’ll see a confirmation once the transaction goes through.
Success! Your trade is now closed, and the result is reflected in your account balance.
⚠️ Important Notes
Once you close a trade, it’s final. You’ll need to open a new one if you want back in.
You can only close active/open positions— pending orders won’t show the close option.
💡 Smart Tips
Partial closes can help you take profit without fully exiting a strong trend.
Don’t forget: if you’re using leverage, closing out may affect your margin ratio.
You can monitor your PnL on open trades to decide when it’s time to close—a great way to learn market behavior!
